4 Wk. Old - Swelling on head

I have two questions. In regards to the swelling of the head, a few nights ago my fiance and I took our son to the hospital because we were worried he had aspirated some of his breast milk due to the actual cap breaking on the bottle. Seven hours later they had checked him for a hernia, checked his blood, xray on his chest, urine sample, and checked his temp. We kept telling the doctor that his left cheek was swollen and they kept telling it was the same size. AFTER all of this the doc checked his throat and noticed a tiny cut in his mouth which may have caused the swelling in his cheek. The next morning we woke up and it sseemed like our baby had a bruise on the left side of his head and it felt spongy and he seemed to be in alot of pain. My fiance fell asleep on the couch with him and we werent sure it maybe his elbow could have bumped his head. He obviously did not mean to fall asleep its just that we were exhausted. This morning we woke up and the redness was gone as well as his swelling. The only thing we've noticed is that it seems to be like a lump or something behind his ear unless its still swollen there. We took him to our doc and they said they would keep an eye on it but arent sure what it is. Has this happened to anybody before? We really want some answers.

I would say from your description this is an injury, could he have fallen off the sofa it isn't a good idea as I am sure you know now to let a small baby lie on a sofa with anyone , if it is still looking painful take him back to the hospital.Maybe a good idea for you to have him at such a small age ,no couches..
