4 Year Old peeing on the floor

Hi
My four and a half year old has for the past few days just started peeing on the floor in her and our bedroom.  She has to pass these rooms to get to the toilet.  She was fantastic at toilet training as she bypassed the potty stage and went straight to the toilet and has been doing this for over two years now.  I have asked her if anything is wrong and she says there is nothing wrong and that she does not know why she has suddenly started doing it, but it is not all the time as she uses the toilet too.  She is starting School in September and has been going to Stay and Play sessions so I am wondering if she is frightened about School but she says no she is excited.  I have stopped giving her sweets and treats and toys etc if she wees on the floor, and I am so releived to find that I am not the only parent suffering this problem as I thought I was, but what can I do

Hi

Thank you for your comments.  So far this week we have not had any problems but that maybe because I am watching her, trying not to make it so obvious though, but I feel that I may be getting a bit paranoid about this and my other half definitely is as he wants to know all the time where she is and what she is doing upstairs.  I have let her be on her own in her room for a while and keep checking and when she comes down I ask her and she replies no so I do go and check though.  Hopefully this is just a phase that she has gone through and the problem has been solved by rewarding each day by giving her sweets and little tings like that.  She did go through a phase of wetting her knickers at Nursery for a few weeks and at the end of the week when she had not wet her knickers she got a little toy or bag of lollipops and that seemed to work. So hopefully this had worked too

Thank you again

It's so hard to say! Potty training can be quite a challenge! I would for now try pullups and that may get her in the mode to use the toilet more she may not feel like a big girl with them on. I would embrace school maybe sing a song that you make up about how much fun it is and you get to learn and see your friends etc! Dance around when you get her ready for school act like a clown who cares pump her up full of excitement she's going. Ask her tho if the other kids are nice and ask her what they do etc in a way a 4 yr old will understand! It could be a phase but if it continues for a few wks then just give your dr a quick jingle and even speak with a nurse and ask them what your next step should be! Good luck and keep me posted!
