4 year old ***** on food

My four year old daughter at almost every meal will take bites of food and put it in the roof of her mouth and suck her food.  I asked her why she does this and she says that it relaxes her and makes her feel "comfy".  I assumed it was a phase put this has been going on since she was 2.  She has never been a thumb sucker, so I am not sure how to discourage this behavior.  It is getting in the way of her actually finishing her meals and it takes her a very long time to actaully eat.  How can I stop her from doing this?

Try ignoring the issue, sometime if you make a lot of something the more it will become , let her do it, let her take time to eat , thats okay if she goes to daycare or school, get her up earlier . I think you will find it will stop once it gets no attention, even if it takes some time, its a habit .good luck
