9 month old with purple bags under eyes

My 9 month old son has purple bags under his eyes and had them since about 5 months old he's very fair skinned and they just look horrible and he gets enough sleep so I don't think that's the problem although my mom so his grandma also has the same bags could it be hereditary ? Should I be worried ? His doctor never said anything about them but he's my first child so I worry about everything

Well hes on formula still so hes not drinking milk just yet but we do feed him " table food" once in a while ... And I will have to ask my mother if she ever found out why she has the same bags .... I thank both of you for replying :-) I will have to ask his doctor next time we go about the allergy shiner maybe that's what he has

Yes, I've heard about that with dairy as well.  He's an infant so maybe not into dairy yet???  But could be allergy related.  There is something called an 'allergy shiner'.  Blood vessels under the eye get enlarged and show up as you describe.

Has your family members that also have this ever found out why??

My sister's sons have an allergy to lactose, and she says they get dark circles under their eyes when they have been drinking (cow's) milk.  Maybe the child has an allergic reaction to something.  That is easy enough to test by eliminating things from his diet one at a time for a few days.
