After birth herpes?

I have possible genital herpes. I had a c section 3 years ago. My question is can my child get herpes while in the womb? Can she get herpes in the womb, be born, and not show signs of any herpes symptoms for years later after birth?

Since you had a C-section, your baby could not have gotten infected. In rare cases, a pregnant woman may transmit the infection to her baby through the placenta if she gets herpes for the first time in her first trimester. Your pediatrician can test for it, if it will make you feel better, but it would be almost impossible for the baby to have gotten it from you.
