My just turned one year old had a fever seizure last night which freaked out.It doesn't run in me or my husband's families. His eyes rolled back, his teeth were clenched, and he was gasping for air.I thought he had swallowed something,so I started hitting him in the back.I've seen movies about people who lock their mouth tight, and the hospital can't get a breathing tube in,so my husband managed to get his pointer finger in his mouth,I put my mouth to my child's and just blew into him,and he came to.It was the scariest thing I had ever experienced. The ER is telling me it's a virus,to keep a check on him every 3hrs.My husband just checked him,he's 101.7,and I'm freaking out, screaming at my husband to hurry up and give him medicine.I take him to the Dr tomorrow to find out why it spiked over 104.I slept w/him last night on my chest.Every time he moved,I jumped.I definitely did not get a good night's sleep. This is all too much for me,I'll keep you guys posted.Right now Motrin&Tylenol is all I can depend on til the Dr's visit.
Ok, so no Dr will say this is true, but my little girl had the same prob. She was in and out of the hosp for years. After a ton of test I asked her Dr about food or environmental allergies. She said that there is now way that allergies could cause these fevers. I had them tested anyway. It was a blood test you can have done out of pocket if the Dr will not do it. It cost me $300, but it was worth it. She was highly allergic to chocolate and goats milk , among many other things . Her fevers, that use to run around 101 to 106.7 ,went away in about a month. Now she is 5 years old and living a normal life. My Dr apologized and admitted that it was wrong to rule out any possibilities.
Good luck
Hope it helps
