Child with Headaches

.My 7 year old son has recently developed frequent headaches.  He has been having severe headaches about two or three times a month that leave him not wanting to do anything but cry in pain and lay down.  He has come home from school early several times due to the pain. The last time his teacher said that he was also feeling clammy like a cold sweat, but was not running a fever.  My family has migranes and a history of diabetes, both juvinile and type 2, but with our migranes have never had sweating that accompanied them.  Any ideas about what could be causing the frequent headaches?

With the thirst if there is a sugar imbalance comes excessive urination ,can also have a gnawing hunger feeling in his upper stomach. If he gets low blood sugar, hypoglycemia ,he would feel better on being given some sweet drink or food ... let us know the results .

His teacher mentioned to me a few weeks ago that he was thirsty alot and when he gets home from school he is tired, but I always just assumed it was from school. I think I will definately check both. Thank you for your help.

Yes I think a test for sugar level wouldn't hurt him usually there are other symptoms like thirst, tiredness, light headed if the level drops, Does he take a multiple supplement that may be a good thing to try , an anti oxident Vit C and B Complex..they do some good ones for children  that  they like taking .I asked about school as if children are bullied or have a problem with school it may affect how they feel ,but it sounds as if thats not the problem .I would still have his eyes tested .

He said that his eyes were not bothering him and that he didnt have a tummy ache or feel sick. He didnt eat well today during the headache but most of the time does well. From what his teachers tell me, he gets along great with them and the other kids. We haven't had insurance for about a year now, and we are gettting insurance in about 2 weeks so I was planning to take him for a physical just to rule out a sugar problem or maybe a low level of a vitamin or something. What do you think?

I think this is something that the doctor should check on if the headaches are severe, he may at least need a med to help with the pain How are his eyes has he complained of any eye disturbance. very often with migraines the sufferer has some Nausea...has he any other symptoms,is he eating okay.Does he get on okay at school with the teachers and with the other children ?
