Chronic head, stomach, knee and skin pain

Our 8yr old Caucasian son is currently experiencing chronic and debilitating head, stomach, knee and skin pain. He also complains itchy/burning skin/scalp, dizziness and nausea. Symptoms appear to be aggravated with heat and activity. He constantly complaints of not feeling good, has general malaise, fatigue and stays in bed most days.

In the past he has had:
• [2008-current] Chronic head pain
• [2010-current] ADD, dyslexia and dysgraphia.
• [April-Oct 2010] suspected granulaoma annulare rash
• [July 2010] Immediately after a trip to Honduras, an emergency appendectomy , an acute and severe upper body rash
• [Feb-May 2011] Severe head / right eye pain, sudden onset of vocal and motor tics, significant personality and mood changes, aggression, irritability, continual sore throat, difficulty breathing and swallowing, mouth rash, pins and needles in feet

With the following results / findings:
• Vitamin D deficiency : 25-OH, D3 (4/13/11 L18ng/mL Range:30-100); 25-OH,  D2 (4/13/11 <4ng/mL Range:30-100)
• Low lactose enzyme (from colonoscopy biopsy)
• Positive Microscopic colitis (from colonoscopy biopsy)
• Low T-cell count: CD4 597 (650-1500) CD8 300 (370-1100)
• Positive postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS)
• Autonomic testing compatible with Small Fiber Neuropathy
• ASO titers normal

We need some help identifying the underlying issue – any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

Hi,
He is not on ADD or ADHD medication. Also, his skin rash occured a few days before the apendectomy. He is currently in bed with acute lower abdomen pain, swollen belly, headach and dizzy. Nothing helps. Any advice?

Thanks,
Rob

I will help if I can but it really requires a professional to read the results you have posted above ..I see he has ADD  may I ask is he on meds for this and what they are  many of the drugs given to children for ADD and ADHD do have side effects and could be some of the cause of his problems .It is possible also that some of the symptoms are unrelated to each other , after the appendectomy he had a rash, it could be he had an allergic reaction to anti biotics after, or some anesthesia they used in the procedure.,the rash sounds like Hives so it is possible he is still allergic to something ...
