MY FRIENDS NEED HELP!!!

Hello All.

My 2 closest friends have a 4 year old and a 1 year old.  Here's the deal.  I am parent with a child w/ a disablility and I honestly feel for my friends.  Their daughter is a beautiful little girl, she was talking one word at 18 months and completly stopped talkin at 2 years old. it has been 2 years old and she only grunts.  they really cannot potty train her because of the lack of speaking.  She is in special school and goes for speech but there is no improvement in regards to her actually speaking.  They went for all nuerology tests and nothing is wrong, blood was all good.

The question I have is anybody have any idea what this could be?  Does anyone knjow why this happens? Ideas to try to get her to speak?  I feel horrible. She is very smart and does interact.  Just does not speak.
I thank all who relies.

Autism.  All the people in our little support group with children with Autism has described similar behaviour.  Especially the fact that she lost speech.  Ask them to find a pediatric neurologist that specialises in Autism.
