Need some answers or opinions..Very FRUSTRATED

Ok where do I start, this about my 8 yr old daughter, I have been in and out of the doctors and hospital with her for the past 3 months, have another appointment on the 2/8/08. I'm so frustrated and stressed out, i need some opinions here or maybe even answers from someone who maybe going through the same thing. About 3 mnts ago my daughter started complaining that her feet were hurting, she would get these sharp pains on and off to the point where she would scream, at first i dismissed it because she was in Cheerleading all summer so i figured it was normal for her feet to hurt, any how brought her to the doc's office and they said try comfy shoes, etc if continues they'll send her to an orthopedic specialist. Now for the past month and a half or so she had been getting headaches, chest pains, pains in her throat, brought her to the doctors and they gave me anti-biotics cause they said her head pains could be because she had a cold or sinus infection and thats also why her throat and chest hurt, ok fine. Last week I ended up in the Emergency room with her cause all day she was getting the sharp chest pains, she was complaining more than usual, the doctor came in and said she probably has growing pains or something with her muscles, he said she was fine but did a chest x-ray to ease our minds, chest x-ray showed that she has a torn muscle and said they normally heal on its own, i'm still scared, where are all these other aches and pains coming from with her head, throat, etc. I just feel something is wrong, her father tells me to stop because he says I am a hypercondriac and  I worry to much, but this is my 8 yr old daughter who's coming to me asking me whats wrong with her and all I can do is ease her mind and tell her she's fine but i'm crying inside. What is it going to take for these doctors to do an MRI or run blood work, i'm so frustrated.

You have the right to request a MRI or another diagnostic test.  If the doctor does not agree--find another.  I hope you find out what is wrong so she will feel better soon.

My daughter is 8 years old and in dance class. She complains of similar symptoms.Part of it might be growing pains, but it could also be anxiety and stress. Maybe have her see a psychotherapist. I know this started happening with my daughter after she said she didn't want to go to dance anymore, it wasn't fun...mainly it was getting to be more demanding and more of a workout. It is a lot for a kid to go through that!

I would suggest keep looking into it, but I have heard of growing pains hurting that much as well.  I've never experienced it but a friend of mine did and she said it was extremely painful for her.  She had literally grown too fast (I didn't know that was possible).   But yeah, I would keep looking into though, just to be sure.... Good Luck.
