Shall I starve my 18mo. old

I titled it strongly just to hopefully gain a little more attention.  Everyday my little boy will Not stay in his chair for lunch.  When he gets out I spend at least 30 min. running around chasing him just to get a bite of food in him.  I will point out fun toys, cars on the street, a book or t.v to occupy him.  His mother thinks I should just try more techniques. The problem is I have only 1 hour to get him ready for his afternoon school.  If he doesn't eat before then he will pig out at school and then do the same thing at dinner.  So my wife says just give him a yogurt or milk with ensure.  Of course he likes these things more and know I am giving in.  He has his own nanny that makes all his foods at home... They are really yummy.  Many of my success with him is if I can just get the first bite down, he looks at me like "Oh.. you're serving that? Well why didn't you say so!"  Then his mouth is wide open. He is playing me so I am just having no fun in giving into this little guy.  Other than that he is the most sharing and caring little person I know and have zero trouble with baths, playing with others etc...  Can you all tell he is my first?  Would really love and appreciate any little tricks

Thanks and happy parenting

Ha Ha I can tell he is the apple of your eye, I think you are making such a lot of it he is treating it like a game, you say you run around chasing him, sounds like a lot of fun no wonder he likes playing it.let him eat his own food put him finger foods on a plate and let him eat without you paying much attention. you say he pigs out at school, if they feed him why do you have to before he gets there ? Does he do the same thing with the Nanny what does she do when its food time ?
