Should I give antibiotics?

Hi, my 3 and half y/o son started 5 ays ago low grade fever and cough at night and after 2 days he started sneezing and common cold appear.. he has less appetite and showing me that he has some tommy pain and I think that he has some nausea.
Everything was clearing fine and just the wet cough (maybe from throat flegms), yesterday evening he said that he is cold and he had again runny nose and he slept and suddenly he developed high fever (39.9 degree celsius) I gave him profen supposatory for kids and after 4 hours (2 am) he was complaining from headache but he had normal temperature.
It has been now 24 hours from when he hadthe high temperature and he still remain fever free.
I took him to Ped.this morning and he heared something on his left lung he requested X-Ray and came clear also we did CBC and ESR , WBC came high (15.80), neutrophils high (73.10) so the doctor told me that ususally WBC over 15 they do consider it bacterial infection and he told me if till tomorrow he remains fever free we will not give antibiotics and later when ESR came high 35 he said maybe you can start antibiotics for him!
I am not a fan of antibiotics, so I took other opinion and doctor told me to wait till tomorro if the fever will not come back so don't give meds!
I don't know now who should I listen to? I can not understand what is this one time high fever happens after few days of common cold also I don't like to administer antibiotics and I don't know if I should!
PLEASE HELP!
