Wrist Sprain/Fracture

Sorry, I didn't know what forum to put this in. :/
My 13 year old niece was taking a walk yesterday and she slipped and hit the top of her wrist on a tree. It's a little swollen but there is no bruising or pain, unless pressure is applied to it. What I don't understand is the bruising on the underside of her wrist. There are 2 bruises and there's also swelling. If she hit the top of her wrist, why is the underside bruised?
Here are a few pictures..

My sister was going to wait and see how her wrist felt in the morning. She's had it wrapped in an ace bandage. Is this something that should be checked out?

If it is swollen and hurting, and a fracture does hurt, I would say yes have it checked out ,if its sprained maybe a compress bandage will help support it .most fractures do hurt its a stinging pain .good luck
