iron supplement

Hi my daughter is 2 years old a very picky eater which is now resulted in her going on a iron supplement, extra vitamins,she is under the care of the pediatric dietation and pediatrican, she has been taking the iron supplement for 4 weeks on friday (7/1/11) she is still very pale, should she still be very pale?, we think she has caught a bug thats going around just now, theres quite a few going around, she has had poor weight gain since birth, any help would be great. many thanks for taking time to read this.

Thats it ... she will grow out of it mine did, and she was in and out of hospital for tests in the end they took her tonsils out ,

I know how worrying it is ,my daughter was the same always skinny could never really get her to eat much, but all was well,try not praising her for eating, be more nonchalent as I say sometimes it works the other way ..if we try too hard they do it for all the attention it gets ..little treasures lol

hi there thanks for your input i do this everyday and have been doing this since the weening stage even when you give the biggest amount of praise she still doesnt eat but im not going to give up i just wasnt sure on the iron side of things but when she goes back and sees her ped ill let you know what they say..

Sounds like you and the Doctors are doing all they can, her pallor probably takes a while to get to a more 'normal' color its only 4 weeks. You say she is a 'picky' eater , now here's where you can help more , get her eating some nice tasty finger foods, cheerios, beans, pasta, chicken pieces, favored milk, another tip I find with children ,they dont always want to be fussed over when eating, we think we are encouraging them but very often it works the other way ,so put her food in front of her and let her eat what she wants to .Good luck let us know how she is doing ..
