swolen lymph nodes on sons head...

I took my 1 1/2 year old son to the doctor a few weeks ago for swolen lymph nodes on his head. The doctor said that it could be from an infection somewhere and swolen glands mean that your body is fighting off the infection.. but he has not been sick.. However being a little boy he has a  fall hitting his head not long before the glands were swolen could this be a result of the fall?

Does he seem okay in himself, playing okay  eating, sleeping ..I think on examination the Doctor would know if it was glands or not., did he give him any medication ? Are the swellings behind his ear?
