I'm so glad to hear you have the appt scheduled, that's step one. I've had POP surgery for recto, cysto, entero and the good thing about seeing a urogyn is they can usually fix it all in one operation. Often women only have a cystocele fixed by their ob/gyn and find out they need additional surgery down the road. Once you've had your appt with your urogyn, shoot your questions this way and we can sort through them all. Please ask any and all questions you have of your dr, women should go into POP surgery with as much information as possible.
Keep your chin up hon, I'll guide you as best I can through the process. The most important thing is this health issue has been recognized and you are on your way to getting it taken care of.
You know where to find me!

Thank you so much for your response! I know you must get hundreds of e-mails and it's probably difficult getting answers to everyone...so again, thank you! My appt. with a urogyn is August 15th, which I am so excited about. Because my bladder pain was not going away, I actually went to see my regular obgyn last week for an exam. The news I received from him was actually worse than I had thought. Not only do I have a rectocele and cystocele, but my uterus is prolapsing, I have an entrocele and my urethra has a kink in it so they will need to repair that as well. That was completely overwhelming! Anyway, for now I am trying to stay as positive as I can. Thank you for keeping in touch!
I'm also glad you found us and that you've already been able to find some useful info on our site. A huge pocket of anxiety comes from not knowing anyone else going through POP, it makes us feel so vulnerable-know that there are literally millions of women suffering the impact of POP.
A+++ to you for taking the steps of finding a urogyn rather than just accepting your obgyns suggestion to procede with surgery. It's such a huge red flag when a dr makes a statement like that without any tests to determine exactly what the backdrop is. You should be able to have a baby after your POP procedures but it is best to discuss this with the urogyn in detail. Every woman's body is unique and the issues related to your particular POP may impact what all needs to be considered with delivering a baby post-POP surgery. Make a list of all of your questions and concerns prior to your appt with your urogyn and include questions pertaining to pregnancy and delivery.
Good luck, keep us in the loop with how your appt with the urogyn goes and send any additional questions in. If you need assistance formatting a question sheet for your appt, let me know and I can make suggestions.
