It is back bigger than ever

I am so upset it is back. About two years ago I had a full vaginal hysterectomy with a bladder repair. The bladder repair has failed..The lump down in the vagina has now passed the vaginal oulet . It is giving a lot of pain. and is very uncomfotable when standing . The gyno has just sent me to see a incontinence nurse. They did did that last time. I have tried pelvic floor exercise . All they do is make me so.I cant pass urine . My gp says that it needs repairing again. My gyno is not seeing me for another 17 weeks .I dont want to wait that long for it to be repaired. It is so big that is impossible to have intercourse. All the incontince nurse will do is to say do pelvic floor excersises. Which did not work last time. Also my gp says that the cystocele has gone too far and big for pelvic floor exercises to work.
Do I try to change hospital. Or ask ask the gp to get in touch with the gyno so he can repair this again. I cant wait the 17 weeks to see the gyno again. I want this lump gone and feel me again It has destroyed my self esteem . I dont feel a woman any more  All I feel is this lump I feel so upset and depressed sorry it such a long post

I can certainly understand why you are upset, whenever we have surgery to repair something we expect it to stay fixed. I always refer women to urogynecologists for pelvic organ prolapse, I agree that this should be addressed by someone beyond a pelvic flloor nurse for exercises. There are many types of physicians who perform surgery for POP but I always refer women to urogynecologists because they are the specialists and the pelvic floor is a very intricate mix of organs and support tissues-it truly takes a specialistt to get it right. Also there are 5 types of POP and if you have more issues going on besides cystocele, a urogyn could address them in one surgery.

Please do not feel you are not a woman, know that  there are 28 million women in the US alone with pelvic floor disorders, it just doesn't get talked about-something I'm trying to change. Has anyone recommended you try a pessary in the meantime?

Check with your local hospital to see if there is a urogyn on staff that you can contact. I am out of town right now, will be back at my desk late Monday, if you don't have any luck finding a urogyn let me know and I can send you a PM (private message) on how to locate one in your area.

Hang in there,  there is hope to return to normal again!
