SMOKING CIGARETTES AND WEED

I am a worried mother who has a son that has bas mucus, coughing etc, and some other systoms that some of you have. He keep on about diet, sugar yeast etc. but I think that if he packed up smoking a ;lot of these things would go away.  It would be interested to know who may of you smoke cigarettes and weed as I am sure that this is most of his problems - I would really appreciate any of you replying to mr truthfully

Nope, dude. It is a real physical phenomenon. Or.... I have had 2 medical professionals lie to my face in order to feed my delusions, telling me I made them itch.

The association with OCD is worth investigating. since OCD anecdotes here are common. Consider the possibility that a pathogen/infection causes both. It shouldn't come as a surprise that somebody with an OCD-like disorder and a hideous unrecognized medical condition uses weed and tobacco for relief and escape.

To me it feels like weed is medicine and poison at the same time. With legalization perhaps someone will figure out how to isolate the medicinal aspects of the plant, without exposing the sufferer to all of the nasty fertilizers and pesticides that I suspect provoke symptoms.

I can understand your concern!  Just for clarity's sake, I'd like to say I don't suffer from PATM and never have, I'm simply very interested in these people... anyway, on to my point.

I don't think PATM is 'caused' by anything.  I believe it to be a primarily mental condition afflicting those who are already predisposed to fixate or obsess.  I used to smoke tobacco and currently use cannabis daily - I experience none of these symptoms.  If your son if acting in an uncharacteristic way, I'd urge you to bring him to a mental health professional who is empathetic, knowledgeable, and able to assist your son with his thoughts.  I specifically do not believe cannabis is playing a role in this.

However, frequent cannabis use, combined with frequent tobacco use, can certainly lead to an increase in mucous production and cam make mucous less viscous (more thick and sticky), as well as coughing, bronchitis (specifically from tobacco and moldy weed, which is more common than most people realize), and a slew of other respiratory symptoms..

I mean no offence to those of you who suffer daily from the discomfort of PATM, I am merely expressing my opinion.

mines started before i smoked weed or cigarrettes. i dont think it has any effect
