It's been a few years since I had to put down my dog and I still have very vivid memories of my first little girl. I got her in kindergarten, after begging my dad to keep her when she was found as a stray in my neighbors back yard. She was the sweetest dog. She would be protective of me and watch over me. We'd go on hikes/walks and play in the back yard. When kids began getting mean in late elementary school and jr high, she was my best friend. She gave unconditional love. People say that dogs often look like their owners, and I think that rang true for my baby girl. Both blonde haired and brown eyes, curly hair.. she has a curly tail. haha. She was the best dog and I will always miss her. She will be in my heart forever.

Hi sweetpea, you are officially the first poster on this brand new website that I just created last night!... and I "thank you". I really felt that we who have loved and loss a beloved pet needed our own place to talk, tell stories, grieved and support each other. Thank you for sharing a photo of Missy and I understand your pain, because I've walked in your shoes.

Toby was my baby boy and when he got sick, I did everything humanly possible to save him, including taking him to emergency hospitals at 2 -3 am, but God had other plans. When Toby died a part of my heart died with him and I am still unable to get another dog, because I don't want to go through what I went through again.  He stopped eating, vomitted quite a bit, became very weak and although I had to go to work the next day, I was up with him on my lap at 2-3 am. It took me a very long time to heal this loss. I will forever miss my boy and cried an grieved terribly.

Our pets were part of our family and we loved them. Missy was simply beautiful and we are her for you if you just want to talk.  Carry Missy where no one, not even death can ever take her away...in your heart.  Thank you for sharing.
