the Rainbow Bridge
this has always made me feel better when i lost a pet.... my mom found the article YEARS ago in a dear abby aritcle....i hope this helps anyone who lost a pet,friend, family member....
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

It's amazing how our pets have what I call healing power. They can calm you, love you, warn you when something is wrong. I truly believe they are a gift from God and losing them is like losing a child. I grieved my boy as If I had loss a child. Not too many people would be able to understand that.

Oh how beautiful that is! I know when I die and go to heaven that ALL my babies will be waiting for me and I cant wait to see them again!
Judy: You hit the nail on the head when you said "unconditional love." I to believe God put them here for us to learn from them and be comforted by them and to remind us that they are so much like Jesus! Perfect, loving, and loyal to the end! Without the two in our lives what happiness would we have?

I always feel as our furbabies cross over to heaven through a rainbow bridge. I feel they are also Gods creation and teach us the true meaning of unconditional love. I hope that one day when God will call on me, my Toby is going to come running to me from the gates of heaven and be the guiding light and show me the way.
