Swaddling?

How kind did you ladies swaddled your babies? My son is 5 months old and has outgrown the swaddles. He is to long for them. I got one of his bath towels and I swaddle him with that. We stopped swaddling him right after Christmas. He had been sleeping through the night since two months. After we stopped swaddling him he started waking through the night. At first I thought he was hungry then realized he wasn't. I couldn't figure out why he kept waking up then I decided to swaddle him again and know he is back to sleeping all night. What am I gonna do when I can't swaddle him anymore? The reason I started back swaddling him is cause of it being cold. Maybe he was waking cause he was cold or because he moves so much. He jumps in his sleep and moves his arms and wakes hisself up.  When is it safe to cover them with a blanket?

You.can also.get sleep sacks that swaddle the arms. Walmart and such has them. They go up to like 40 pounds or something. They are meant to be the next step if your lil one has grown out of regular swaddlers.

My son is 5 months too and I still swaddle him but just the arms, he's always pulling his legs up so I never swaddled him completely, maybe u can try swaddling just the arms cause its more likely he wakes up cause he jumps and moves in his sleep, we keep it very warm in our apartment and my son sleeps a lot better when swaddled, otherwise he'll wake himself up. I think u can try using blanket already, when I cover him with a blanket I tuck the ends between crib and mattress really well and I know he won't be able to put it on his face. I know some people swaddle a 12 months old so u can do it as long as u need to if that means a good night sleep for u and your son :)
