colic in babies

My colicky baby cries a lot and gets all knotted up red and agitated when having g colic episodes. I bounce him,  drive around,  tried pacifiers,  carry him front on chest with wrap and carrier,  I coo him on my chest belly down,  swing chair, bathing n massaging,   stroller and even gripe water (mommy's bliss) . Its stressful seeing babies cry like that. How do you soothe your babies? Any more ideas?

Cher. My daughter is now 5 1/2 mo old. I remember her colic days, good thing it passes. At one point she cried 3 days straight. I finally went tp the doctor who said she was colic. I was instructed to eliminate dairy out of my diet and caffeine as I am breastfeeding. Let Me tell you, it really did help. I would recommend this, worth a try. I also did a bunch of research on how to sooth a colic baby and found massaging her belly while undressed helped as well. She was also gassy so the massaging helped release gas. If your little one has gas problems try baby gas drops, I have my baby this at times 3-5 times a day.

I can second mommatobe513. If you find a chiro that works on babies defiantly see them about it. My aunty had dramas with both her bubs and the chrio did wonders almost instantly

Okay, I'm warning you ladies now this is going to sound CRAZY! But, my little girl is a month old and was sooo colicky and had terrible acid reflux, NOTHING and I mean NOTHING worked!! I was at the point where I was in tears every time she was!! Well, I went to my chiropractor for an appointment and while I was there she had one of her little episodes and he looked at me and asked me if he could adjust her, and of course my first words were are you crazy?! Adjusting a newborn! Hell no! He laughed and showed me a bunch of different articles on how adjusting a baby can help, long story short I finally have in and let him adjust her (no, it is not the same as what adults get, they DO NOT crack a newborn! But simply apply a little pressure to where they can feel the baby is out of line and voila it's like a freaking miracle!!!! Not only is she not colicky anymore, but NO MORE acid reflux, she actually straightens out her legs now instead of curling them up into her chest from all the discomfort she was in, and she poops better than she EVER has! Honestly, I would go get your little man adjusted!!! Research it and find yourself a chiropractor and I promise you will LOVE the results! It might take a few visits to completely go away but I promise it is well worth it!!!

My 8yr old had colic bad and we would set her in a portable bassinet on top of the dryer and the vibration calmed her. Just make sure you get there before the buzzer goes off! :)

I was given Colief drops from my GP for my boy (5 weeks) - he gets 4 drops with every feed - as I combination feed he either gets 4 drops in his bottle or I express some milk into a small medicine cup and put 4 drops in their for him to drink before each time he gets breastfed and it seems to be working :) x

Am breastfeeding. I will try reducing dairy for my diet and see what happens. Thanks shelbyxox. Hopefully he will feel better.

Are you breast feeding or using formula? If breast feeding, you should try cutting dairy out of your diet. Or if formula feeding, the type of formula could be irritating him.
