Conflicting medical opinion..Please help!

I have started losing hair mob style since Jan 2018, persistent acne and weight gain from sep 2018 after going through post traumatic stress disorder for 6 months without seeking help.

I went to an endocrinologist and had my blood work done where everything was fine apart from slightly raised dhea s at 8.3pmol/l, low shbg at 30nmol/l and out of range androstenedione of 12.7nmol/l (normal range is 3 - 8)

The endo said I have stress related hormonal disorder and that it will settle in a few months with rest and diet.

I went to another endocrinologist who told me categorically that I have pcos.

My question is, I do not have irregular period nor cysts on my ovaries, merely symptoms of hyperandrogenism, does that constitute a pcos diagnosis? Based on.Google it appears thst I need to have 2 out of 3 of the criteria to qualify..so the conflicting diagnosis from.my endocrinologist are confusing me..

Thank!

We had been trying to have a baby with my husband for eight long years with the help of reproductive medicine, specifically with in-vitro fertilization treatments. In 2012 I was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. We couldn`t have a child naturally. The costs IVF in our country is really expensive. The price depends on the patient age and the type of IVF cycle. I did this procedure 4 times. You can imagine how much money we spent. We thought about adoption but this procedure is rather long and hard. One day I read one article about surrogacy. But this is procedure is illegal in our country. I thought it might be somewhere where it was possible to do lawfully. And I we decided to use Ukrainian surrogacy. At that time I have known that Ukraine is really popular among infertile couples because of the price. As a result, our surrogate mother delivered for us little baby boy. The surrogacy cost for us around 30k euros. I think it isn`t so an expensive price for such procedure. So, you shouldn’t worry! ART medicine can help you and other people who have such problems.

I would tend to think the same as you. Having regular periods and no cysts on your ovaries, this isn't likely PCOS. However, were you not tested for insulin resistance or at least had your fasting glucose checked?
