How much can Polycystic Ovaries affect your chances of getting pregnant?

A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with having Polycystical Ovaries. Quite a few of my friends also had this problem and I had heard it was very common but I still not could not stop thinking about how this might affect my having children later on in life as this is something I want more than anything! I am currently 26 years old and have been with my boyfriend for 2 and a half years, we don't practice safe sex because we feel if it happens it happens. That doesn't mean to say we are trying as we both have hectic lifestyles and right now having a baby wouldn't exactly be very practical however I am thinking more about when the time comes in the near future, most probably we would like to try next year or latest the year after and I am very worried that my body will deeply affect this. My partner has *** inside me many many many times during sex, before, during and after my period more times than I can count, any other woman I am sure would have gotten pregnant by now and so I feel very strange about this. My periods are wack and come and go like the rain in London, Im never really sure when I'm on and off and often bleed inbetween periods too. My hormonal balance is off the scale and I just don't feel as if I know my body because it has a mind of its own, When I first started my periods around the age of 17 I went on the pill for a couple of years which regulated everything but I heard such bad thingd about lot of pills and would rather my body was as natural as possible without having to force menstruational timings. I'm worried I won't be able to have children. When I was 9 or 10 I remember getting excrutiating painful low abdominal pains very frequently pretty much every day, so bad I wouldn't be able to stand, as if I was getting the worst period pains. This is weird because I started my period 7 years later!  I didn't tell anyone because I was scared and to be honest I always think back to this. I have told a doctor this since but no one seems to know whats up. Help would be appreciated as Im a complete worrier right now.
