Just learned I have PCOS

After being on birth control for 10 years due to the doctors thought I had endometriosis and now I am trying to conceive. After doing ultrasounds I found out that I have PCOS not endometriosis. When I stopped with the pill I had two normal periods. When it was time to have my third period it was three weeks late with all of the symptoms I thought I was pregnant except all of my pregnant tests were negative. Once again I am late and I am getting all of those “pregnancy” symptoms: nausea, light headed, tiredness, sensitive to smell, and belly feeling saggy, and what not. Does anyone have these similar symptoms?

Now that I know I have PCOS it make sense why I have always been over weight, and it didn’t matter how active I was. Through my whole childhood years through college I was an athlete and I never understood why I was always over weight. Now that I am Graduate grad and no longer a competitive athlete I have been gaining weight faster than one would like. Does anyone have suggestions on diets that have worked for you? I’ve changed my eating habits, types of food, working out (unfortunately not like what I used to do). I’ve been thinking about doing Alli, has anyone had any success stories for people like me on these situations?

i have done weight watchers it is a great program and i highly recommmend it. they teach you about healthy eatting and portion sizes also about how fiber really effects how you absorb food. I was on weight watchers for 15 or 16 weeks and lost 35lbs, i was'nt done loosing weight, but became pregnant and had to quit, after my baby was born i planned on going back on, but i had a lot of stuff come up with my family. I am currently pregnant again, so i am not on it right now, but after i have the baby i am planning on going back on and losing the rest of the weight that i need to lose. you don't have to buy special foods, and can still eat some of the things that you love just in moderation.  Good luck with you weight lose and hope something works for you!

i have been on the Atkins diet for 7 weeks and has lost 15 pounds. i feel so much better and all of my clothes are to big. it makes me feel good when everyone keeps saying that i look different and that i look good. i still have about 30 more pounds to go but i am looking forward to losing it. now since it has warmed up, i plan on getting out and doing some exercising and walking. but do give it a try. for more info, look it up online. good luck to you both. keep me updated as i will ya'll

I'm in the same boat you are as far as not understanding the weight gain, I'm in grad school and at my heaviest weight, hopefully others can shed light to what they have done.
