Metformin Question

My doctor put me on Glucophage (Metformin) about a month ago.  I started taking 1 500 mg tablet per day and just started taking two.  My question is, how long does this take to work.  I haven't had my period in six months (definitely not pregnant).

Thanks!

I was diagnosed with PCOS early this year and started taking Glucophage in January of February.  Like you, I started on 500mg once daily, and quickly increased it to 500mg twice daily.  I had a period within a couple of months, but by July of August I had become more regular than ever.  I now have a period every 5 weeks without fail.  I hope that answers your question!

Thanks for your response.  No, I'm not on progesterone, just metformin.  My endo said that she wanted to try just that first.

did they give you progesterone to make your AF show up? I had that also. I took it for 10 days than within 2 days i would have AF.
