After reading about PCOS and its impact on libido and enjoyment of sex, things somewhat are making sense. My wife has never really been "into" having sex, and had mentioned from time to time that she didn't enjoy it and it hurt most of the time. When she does almost orgasm or is in the midst of it she has been starting to get these really bad migranes, so she sometimes doesn't finish...
We want to get preggo too, and thought we would wait maybe a few years, but now it seems that we may have to speed up the plans a bit because it may be harder if we wait longer. We are three days in to the Lo/Ovral and things seem ok so far...when she tried birth control a few years back it (Yasmin) it was a disaster...

ok here it goes..i was dx with PCOS in nov. 06 just 2 months after i got married...before when i was younger i always had facial hair and always have been overweight..i checked my thyroid and it was normal..i always got my period they would range anywhere between 28-35 days but i never missed one month...they would be very heavy and i would pass clots too but i was never really worried since period can vary from month to month and i wasent sexually active till i got married so birth control to me was a waste...in nov. when my OB told me i had PCOS i came home and looked it up on the internet and i freaked out...i told my husband im sorry but i dont think we will ever have kids...he looked at me and said your a freak!! Anways my OB put me on Metformin...it helped me a lot my period were coming regular but still heavy so i went back for more testing and found out i had polyps in my uteres so in jan 07 i had a D&C...after that my bleeding heavy stopped..and i continue on taking the Met. well i was trying to get pregnant and i found out i wasent ovulating..i went back to my OB and he gaved me a fertility drug to make me ovulate called clomid...i used it for 4 months but it dint help...he than reffered me to an RE (reproductive endocrinalogist) who helped me a tons...i was put on injectables and got preggo on my first try im currently 11 weeks preggo and im still taking met. till im 12 weeks...so for those of you that want to became preggo with PCOS is possible just find a good doc. and take met. but for those of you who dont want to be preggo i hear that birth control can control PCOS and all the side effects that come along with it...once im done having kids thas what i will problably do..being on met. i did lose some weight and i manged to keep it off for a yr...some moderate exericse should be helpfull too..PCOS can also be the cause why many womens dont orgasm or dont enjoy sex it can inflect with our libido...so talk to your doctors and see whats the best solution! i hope i helped a little and happy holidays.

My wife was diagnosed with PCOS about a year ago, but we didn't do anthing to "treat it". Just within the past two months she has been bleeding for about 50 days with only about 4 or 5 days rest in between along with the heavy clots etc that are mentioned above. We didnt know what to do, but her gyno prescirbed Lo/Ovral first of all to stop the bleeding. Another Dr. also mentioned Metaformin as a possible solution to the problem. I'm discovering that so many things are linked...she has a growth on her thyroid which was just discovered about 1 year ago, which may also plays a role in the PCOS. When she was first advised of the PCOS we were hesitant to try to go on the BCPs because of the mood altering side effects, but now we apparently have no choice. Just some what venting here, but hope some of my info helps someone.

I think we all that have PCOS feel your pain....I am currently going on a 2 week period and the worse Knee pain...stomach pain....all i can tell you go to the doctor and make them do something...I am have a problem where the docs won't tell me anything....I have been told to lose weight ( not that overweight) and exericse. and take birth control....which defeats the whole thing with me trying/wanting to get pregnant. as for the sex, im not sure why you are not enjoying it and not having a orgasm.
