Ovary removal and surgical clips

I had both ovaries removed 6-23-08.  From the moment I woke up in recovery I had this stabbing pain in lower right abdomen and it still remains after3 months.  CT Scan shows metallic clips in lower pelvis.  I think the pain is now from the surgical clips.  Anyone else have same symptoms after ovary removal??

I've read your post and several others. Have you come to an solutions?
I had a  total hysterectomy in 2000 at the age of 37. Then another  10 years later as the permanent style stitch at the cervical site was red and causing severe pain. The Dr. cut it out and removed it and put a dissolving stitch there. I have not had problems since. However, I just discovered I had clips where the ovaries were following a back x-ray. I did not even know they were there. No one told me nor asked me if that could be a problem. I am allergic to metals. I have had severe pain and swelling of the lower abdomen for over 15 months now. It is 15 years later. Also terrible pain and tenderness in the center of the upper abdomen where there is another following a gallbladder surgery, which I was not aware of either.
I have crowns on 3 molars due to cracking while I sleep. 3 are now porcelain. One previously metal. I had terrible jaw pain accompanied by gum tenderness, swelling at the crown site for years. I finally told my Dentist that I pretty sure I know what the problem is. I asked for him to remove it and replace it with a porcelain one. Amazing! Within 36 Hrs., the pain had subsided and continually got better. He has practiced for 30 years and has not experienced that. Learn something new every day.
I am now going to speak with my GYN whom performed the hysterectomy and request the same if possible. My life is horrible. My whole body feels sick and a very tender abdomen at the ovary sites.
Thank you and hope to hear how things went for you. RH

I had my appendics removed and the surgeon put a circular metal clip in its place. When I found out I was very upset with him for doing this and the fact that he didn't tell me. I now have pain and infections in this area. Talking to another surgeon in las vegas about removal and if it can be done without futher complications. I will let you know what he tells me.

Please keep in touch as i am anxious to hear if your offending clips have been removed and more importantly, that you are free of pain in your lower abdomen.

My hysterectomy was for cervical cancer and i can sympathise with you because i know the pain that you are going through and also because i have about 30 metal clips left in my lower abdomen which have caused me huge problems. I am happy that you have discovered these clips at this early stage following your surgery. The best advice that i can offer you is to ask your radiologist for a further more detailed report regarding the location of the clips in relation to the site of the pain. It is possible that one or more of the clips are touching a nerve which could leave you with permanent pain and discomfort in that area and your surgeon may well consider at this early stage, the removal of the offending clips that are causing the problem if indeed that is the case. I wish you good luck and good health in the future. Mirade.
