PCOS.

I have been diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 15. I've been having really bad pains that come and go at the bottom of my abdomen. The doctor said that there is nothing I can do about it apart from taking strong painkillers. The dr. has suggestes to take Naproxen but unfortunatly, I get really bad stomach ache when taking Naproxen. Does anyone know any tips that could help me to get rid of the horrible pain and any tips for weight loss with PCOS?

HI,
For the pain, drugs may be necessary. However if naproxen is not suiting you, a switch to another drug can be made. Antacids can be taken along with painkillers to prevent gastritis. Hormonal factors in PCOS make weight loss difficult. Weight loss can be achieved by a combination of diet control or dietary modification and exercise. You should consult a dietician to prepare a diet chart according to your food habits, in such a way that nutrition is not compromised. Exercise should be such that is as per your liking so that the chances of sticking to the exercise regime are greater. Exercise should be done daily for 30 to 60 minutes.
Take care & good luck.
