I was diagnosed with pcos when I was 19. I thought they were wrong and I never took the medicine and since have had three miscarriages. I was recently diagnosed again at 26 and want to keep my next pregnancy so I was prescribed metformin. I have excess hair on my face, chest, belly, and arms. Acne on my back, chest, and face. My testosterone was 370 and should be 30-70. My estrogen and androgen is consecutively as high. Hopefully the metformin will help everything get back on track.

Hi, I know how you're feeling as I have been in this situation before. I did so much research into it, was convinced I had it for a year (it took me a year to get the courage to go for the ultra sound) I turned out to not even have it and you probably will too. You haven't mentioned makes you think you have it?bdo you have any symptoms? I had no physical symptoms other than getting periods a little later, having a few pimples and I used to get sick during my period (nausea, vomiting, constantly having to go to the toilet, dizziness) I never had any facial hair, am not overweight, acnewasnteven really that bad and it was caused by severe amount of stress I was under back then. But if you do have those symptoms and if you do have it, it's really not that bad and can be managed. I know I was terrified back then because I didn't know much about it and it sounded scary but I now know many people who do have it and are completely normal, they take contraceptive pill as treatment for it (as do I for my acne and that sickness I used to get and also just to make sure I always know when I'm getting my period and can skip if I need to, also for contraceptive) they all were overweight, bad acne and grow facial hair and their arm hair is coarser and darker too. But other than that the condition doesn't affect them in any way they are still keen to have kids because you still can, I never knew how common it really was, trust me it really is! So many people have it and they have kids! So you don't need to worry too much about it. Good luck with your ultra sound I hope it all goes well and hopefully you don't even have it but remember that even if you do, it's not the end of the world. The worst part is having to drink all that water and not pee before the ultrasound!
