Side and pelvic pains

My girlfriend suffers from constant pain in her waist area along her left side in the general area where mentural cramping would begin and around to her lower back. and at many times the pain has gotton so bad she will vomit and is unable to move and in sever pain. Sex makes the pain intensify so she has lost her will to have sex in fear of worsening the pain. She has her period only like once every 4 months or so and usually only for a few days cycle. She has had many test done with no solutions or proper conclusions, She has no ovarian cyst and her white cells have risen and fallen at different doctor visits. She is 21 years old and this started about 2 years ago. Is there any solutions or ideas you may have as to what this could be she is ready to give up as it apears there is no hope.

Your girlfriend needs to see another doctor asap. This could really be anything. The pains are most likley associated with the menstrual cycle....which is why she only has one every 4 months or so. I would suspect PCOS or possibly endometriosis. I would say for her, that she needs some more blood work....and an internal/external ultrasound. Here is a list below, if PCOS is supsected, here are some of the hormones that need to be tested:

Lutenizing hormone (LH)
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH)
Total and Free Testosterone
Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS)
Prolactin
Androstenedione
Progesterone.
Other hormones that may be checked include:
estrogen
thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)
In addition, glucose, cholesterol (HDL, LDL and triglicerides) levels might also be assessed.

She needs to address this issue asap, so no pernament damage occures.
