Sore red spot on leg

I have a very sore spot that has appeared on my leg in between the knee and groin, sort of on the inner thigh.  It is slightly red but there is no sign of a bite mark.  When pressed, it appears to be about 1" X 2" wide and maybe 1/2" to 1" deep.    It doesn't move around like a fatty cyst.  I searched spider bite sites and cysts but can't find out much.

Sounds like a boil or possibly an ingrown hair, however it could be or turn into a staph infection or cellulitis. If you begin to run a fever, I would see a doctor immediately because that type of infection can get into your blood stream and become very serious very quickly.

If it's what I think it maybe I get them, on my inner thighs and sometimes around my trouser line. If it's the same as me its a type of boil they can be really painful but if you keep getting them go to doctors and they will give you antibiotics x
