can Hsg Test help me get PREGNANT?

MY DOCTOR SAID I HAVE PCOS and he have sent me to do a Hsg test. what is this Hsg test for? what is it like during and after the procedure? can it help me to get pregnant. really wants to know.

i welcome  all experience and info on Hsg test.

I had my GSG like 3 days ago and it was that bad, it felt unconfurtable but now my vigana feels weird. It hurts, ich and I don't know even my panties feel uncomfortable. Any suggestions about what to do

I recently had an HSG test done as part of a routine infertility workup. As previously mentioned, it is more of a diagnostic test than a treatment option. You will be placed on an exam table in stirrups (like for a pelvic exam), and a small tube is inserted through your cervix (you may feel a pinch). Then the doctor will inject a small amount of dye into the uterus and up into the fallopian tubes (you may feel pressure and/or warmth). While this is going on, they will be running an x-ray machine so the doctor can see the path of the dye. The entire procedure took less than 5 minutes.

The test is definitely uncomfortable, but is over very quickly. I was told by the nurse that it is much less painful if you relax, and my doctor recommended taking a couple of ibuprofen an hour before the procedure to minimize cramping. I was a little uncomfortable/crampy for a few hours afterward - but nothing worse than mild menstrual cramps. If you are very nervous about the procedure, discuss it with your doctor and he/she may be able to give you something to help with anxiety beforehand - but of course then you will need someone to drive you to and from the appointment.

I HAVE DONE MY hSG test today and yes it was painful for a few minutes during the procedure. AT one point i felt like jumping up off the bed and run outside lol. i held on firmly to the bedsides when they were trying to insert the tube thing inside of me. the metal thing which they used to clamp my vagina held on to it tightly, squeezing the hell out of me down there.

Even i had a HSG done in 2010. This test is usually done to test if both your fallopian tubes are open. Normally docs advise this test when the couple are finding it  hard to get concieved. So as StephRox13 said the test makes you uncomfortable which may last only for 5 min. Dont worry. All the best.

I had a HSG test done in May. It's a test where a Dr will shoot dye into your vagina to see if there is any blockage in your tubes & to see the shape of your uterus. While you're laying on a xray table they will shoot the dye into you, it hurts I'm not gonna lie to you. Its bearable but very uncomfortable. It like an intense cramp that takes your breath away. The worst of it doesn't last long 5 minutes or less, then you're just sort of crampy the rest of the day. Anyways my Drs showed me the xrays as the dye was moving through my tubes & uterus, which was neat & everything in me was open, flowing good & normal. I was in and out of there under 20min or so.

I don't know if it'll help you get pregnant or not. I've heard that it helps kinda flush things out so your chances tend to be better. In my case I did the HSG test to try to figure out why I keep miscarrying. I have 1 son who's 10, had no problems getting prego or with my pregnancy except that he was 7 weeks early. For the past 6 years we've been ttc with no luck but then last year started my cycle of getting pregnant but miscarrying within 7 weeks.
