Hi, I was diagnosed in Sept 08' with PCOS. I have experienced PCOS symptoms for over 14 years and was never diagnosed until recently. I was prescribed Yasmin in November and I have noticed a significant difference with the hyperpigmentation that I was also experiencing. I am also using bleaching/lightening products to rid myself of the hyperpigmentation caused by the out of control hormones. I believe that the combination of Yasmin and the lightening products are FINALLY working together. The products alone before were not working I think because my hormones were just the stronger of the two forces. I have also joined a weight loss program in California that incorporates chromium picolinate and vitamin b12 to aid in the weight loss process, along with a lean protein, minimal carb and minimal fruit diet. I lost 9 1/2 pounds my first 2 weeks. I would suggest Yasmin and Vaniqa(prescription cream to slow the hair growth). Much success to you, young lady. I am so glad that you were diagnosed so early on. God Bless!

Hello, I also have dealt with the same since I was 19 I am now 28.  My doctor have only prescibed birth control "Yasmin" to help control or even "cure" my facial hair from under my chin; However, I can't say that the Yasmin didn't  work  because I never really stayed on it long  enough to find out b/c of the side affects. Nevertheless, you may be a different make-up than me.  My body just couldn't handle it.-smile

Whatever you do, don't shave!  I have the same problem because of PCOS, but I wax.  If it's just under your chin, perhaps you should try bleaching it.  Bleach does work and it's not painful like waxing is.  If the problem becomes worse and you start getting hair in more places on your face, you should wax instead because even with bleach, you'll be able to see the fuzziness of the hair around your face.  If the PCOS has made you gain weight already, a low carb diet can help you lose weight and control the other symptoms that come with PCOS.  It's hard, but it helps.  Good luck.
