You shouldn't have lied. Doctors will help you get better. They may have you talk to a mental health specialist, but I doubt they'll take your baby away. Postpartum depression is serious and should not be taken lightly.

I'm really glad to hear that.  Taking care of yourself first is not only best for you, but will be best for your baby in the long run.  It can take awhile for the pills to kick in, and of course therapy takes time, but I hope you see improvement soon.

Hi Patricia, I've read a few of your previous messages about experiencing depression, or post-partum depression.  It's very important that you get help for yourself.  Please stop thinking about "what if this happens?" because without help, you may spiral downward and something really bad WILL happen.  They're not going to take away your baby because of PPD.  Even if they did, it would be temporary until you get medication and help.  Most likely they'll just get you help for depression.  PPD is not uncommon, but it can get way worse if not treated, to the point where you harm yourself or others.

I suffer with anxiety and am diagnosed with borderline personality bipolar disorder. I am on 40mil of Prozac and 40 min of latuda .... Maybe look your symptoms up and call for councling with a psychiatrist.....some people disagree with medication but some people NEED it....if your truly worried about your problems I would take the first step to seek councling because it truly helps you find the right medication needed. I was suffering with my problems for almost 5 years not medicated and I made tons of mistakes because my problems controlled my choices....some things like anxiety can come after having a baby as well as depression; its just natural as we are humans and can not choose what chemicals were lacking in our brains. Stay strong.

I lied as well, but I than callwdy doctor back and explained to him that I lied, because I was afraid they will take my baby from me. What I did to overcome my depression was I walk I went to the gym I worked out and my mother and my husband help me out more with the baby. They did recommend these classes that I go to but I've never went

Zoloft has a ton of bad reviews and as a person who used to take it I agree, it made me feel bad plus I felt like a zombie.

I'm on Zoloft and it really helps with my anxiety and depression. I've been on it since I gave birth to my first daughter.

That's awesome... Sometimes just talking helps a lot... Knowing that someone is listening to you makes you feel like you matter and you're not alone...

Hi patriciaaa02... I'm glad to have read that you went to get help... I have ppd and this is my second time dealing with it after a pregnancy... I knew when I was pregnant with this child that I had that chance of it reoccurring just because of how I felt when I was pregnant... Anyways like I said I'm happy you did go... You actually have a higher risk of them taking your baby if you don't get treated than if you admit to having ppd... I've never had anyone like a social worker interfere in my life after being treated for ppd the first time nor did I have anyone tell my kids would be taken... I do know a couple of people that were never treated and the effect from not dealing with the ppd ended up causing them to lose their children... Being treated lowers your risk because you are getting help and you don't always have to be on medication... Try it to see what helps and what doesn't... Be aware of your feelings and reactions on the meds just in case it may not work you can be pointed in the right direction...

I agree you need to let your Dr know. I doubt they would take the baby either.
