I don't know of a way other than aking fertility drugs. I would love twins as well !!! Some people say that eating lots of yams can cause you to ovulate more than once.
while having twins is a blessing, carrying them is considered high risk for both you and the babies - not sure if this is something that one would want to do intentionally.
there is nothing you can do naturally to guarantee twins. factors that influence it are age and genetics.
i am a twin and would be scared enough if i was the one to have the twins out me or my sister, they run through my father side of the family...they say it skips a generation, which my kids would have, but it is just a blessing from god
yes, i would say that genes play a huge role. fertility treatments might leave you with multiples as well. i've always wanted twins but after havind my dd, i thank G-d i didnt. dont get me wrong, i love her to death and she's the best thing that happenned to us but she is a handful. it's a lot of work!
Like someone already mentioned, age can up your odds of having twins. If you're 35 or older, you have a slightly higher chance of having twins than younger moms. As far as genetics, though, only fraternal twins can run in families. Identical twins are considered a fluke (albeit a happy one!), so their presence on your family tree has no bearing on whether you will or won't have twins, too.
thanks guys! twins are a huge gift from God any baby is i dont care if i have twins or triples or just one as long as it is healthy!!!!! baby dust!
I am having twins...I really don't know how it happened. The only thing I can think of is that I had a m/c 4 weeks before I conceived...so maybe I hyper-ovulated to catch up. I never had a period in between, but we weren't trying. When I thought I ovulated which was two weeks post m/c...I used predictor strips that came back +, we used protection in order to prevent so I could give my body time to heal. The only time we did have unprotected sex was in the heat of the moment 2 weeks after that....and BAM...must have been fate! I have no idea, but I truly do feel blessed!!! My mom was also adopted, and knows most of her biological family history, and as far as she knows--No twins. I do have to say that all of this does seem a bit overwhelming, b/c I also have a three yr old son, and I think it would be a task bringing home one baby...let alone two. Finding out I was pg was a really big shock, but finding out there was two is a jaw dropper...the doc just about had to peel my dh off the floor...LOL! Whatever is in God's plan for you will happen! God Bless and Good Luck TTC!!!
I'M 23 YEARS OLD AND TRYING TO CONCEIVE FOR THREE YEARS. I GOT PREGANAT AND LOST THE BABY BECAUSE OF MY WIEGHT 335 LBS AND NO OXYGEN. HOW DO I REBOOST MY CHANCES OF HAVING MULTIPLES OR JUST ONE CHILD. I'M IN PROCESS OF LOSS WEIGHT I'VE LOST 60 LBS. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

twins do run in my family as well. even though we've only had i think two sets of identical twins and that was with the first of our family in the 1800's. (how my family keeps track of that i don't know but ohhhh my grammy was SOOO Super organized and the uber researcher) the twin "gene" does skip a generation in my family but my dad and his...2nd wife were on fertility treatments and had "the boys". i'm not sure if that counts. but yeah fertility treatments definately up your chances...i've never heard of the yam thing though. that's pretty interesting!
Hello everyone! My husband and I decided we want another child. I'm really praying for TWINS! I'm a twin my self and recently had my IUD taken out. I heard that Being a twin and recently getting off birth control my chances are really high. Can anyone give me anymore information on this or is that wishful thinking!
Thanx!
My grandma had two sets of twins and yet this is my fourth baby with no twins, so I don't know.
i know clomid raises your chances of twins.
hi there isnt much that can be done to guarantee twins. In my family onmy dads side triplets are due and on my mums side twins are due and my partners family have twins due. I am pregnant but only with one child so there is not much that can help just a luck thing if the egg splits
good luck
Hi everyone, I have been looking up information on the net on how to conceive twins without clomid. I found some easy stuff to try, For example taking folic acid, drinking milk, eating more beef, and drinking raspberry tea. Not the best information but doesn't hurt to share it! Good luck to all!
this might me true I heard the same thing and soon we will be trying to get pregnant and i hope it will be twins:)
if it will happen I will let you know if it works:)
a double dose of Clomid will work too, it worked with my friend :)
good luck to all of you:)
Yes please let me know! and GOOD LUCK with the "double" baby making business..lol! I have been taking folic acid and drinking milk like crazy. My husband and I just recently have been working really hard on having a baby or babies!!! How do you go about getting Clomid?
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
Hi,
I have been on folic acid, materna and lots of milk drinking for about 4 months now and starting this month we'll be working on making our baby or babies.
this is what my friend did, she went to her doctor telling her that she's been trying for a long time and no results and if she could give Clomid to help her and so her dr. prescribed it and that's what worked with her to have twins.
This will be my second pregnancy we have a 3 year old daughter.
Good luck to you and keep us posted:)
wow this is a very old post of mine thats weird to read that it was long ago
Wow, and people are still posting to it, so did you end up having twins?
Same here I also have a 3 year old and she's crazy in a great way!! I wish I would of had another baby sooner but we had to do the responsible thing and wait...lol. As for clomid, I think I'm going to wait on that, unless all else fails. Thanks and great luck to you and please keep us posted as well.
What is Materna? ( I hope this isn't a crazy question)
no i didnt get twins lol i got one boy
Hi,
Materna is a multivitamin for a pregnant ladies. No worry that isn't a crazy question:)
With me nothing new yet:(
My 3 year old daughter is crazy in a great way too, she is very energetic and very busy, why this and why that and what's this for and how this and that and constantly on the go. I think that is normal and healthy for a 3 year old child.
I wish we had another one closer with age but we had serious problem with first .pregnancy, so this is still a huge and serious decision although I would love to have twins and then be done with the baby business. But whatever is ment to be will happen in our lives.
Great luck to you too:)
