old wives tale?

Does anyone know why they say it isn't good to take a bath while pregnant? Or is it just a hot bath? Is a warm bath OK? I've just heard a few people say your not supposed to take baths while pregnant but they didn't know why...

It's baths over 99 degrees fahrenheight.  Baths are fine until your water breaks and are really great at relieving back pain.

Baths are fine- if too hot you might faint when you try to get out.  Baby is same temp as you. You regulate it's temperature.  Hot pools are not recommended (geothermals or spa pools) because of infection risk.

I know that doctors say not a lot of baths (pregnant or not) because it can cause infections. But I took baths throughout my entire pregnancy  and my baby was healthy and full term. Just don't take too hot of baths. Your body can't get too hot because then the baby can go into stress and if he/she gets too hot, they have no way to cool themselves down.
