Hi, I got told go when they're 5 mins apart and also that your waters may not break naturally. Get someone to time and keep a record of the contractions so that when the midwife asks how long they are and how far apart you've got your info. Good luck! X

My advice after giving birth to 4 babes and being a nurse is NOT to go to the hospital until you cannot walk or talk between contractions. You have plenty of time to get there with your first babe and you'll drive yourself crazy running back and forth for false starts. Trust me......you'll know when the real ones hit.....good luck!!!!

That's a hard one I guess the obvious sign would be when your water breaks. But its hard to say cuz if they are sending u home even with your contractions close together I'm not exactly sure I would think if they are close and its getting really painful I'd just go.
