1cm dilated and 50% effaced

I had an appointment on July 7, at that point I was 34 weeks and 4 days also my doctor checked me and I was 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced. This is second child but I'm having contractions daily and a throbbing pain between my legs I'm so uncomfortable and he's dropped so low at this point I'm 35 weeks and 4 days. I never sleep. With my first I never dilated but I went into labor on my own at 40 weeks. My doc said he would be surprised if I last 2 more weeks he said no sex until I reach 37 weeks. If I'm already dilating and effaced shouldn't I be going into labor soon anyone else have a relatable experience?

Yes same here, I feel like I'm carrying him between legs. It's terribly uncomfortable. Are you also on limited activities?  My doctor said to try to hold off until 37 weeks for activities but I'll be 36 weeks on Thursday and I'm going stir crazy!

I was dilated at 35 weeks and went 9 days late and induced... With this one I'm 36 almost 37 weeks and not dilated but Dr said she is expecting to hear from me any day because he is so severely low...
