update: I have heavy bleeding last night and thought it was the end, but the scan today still showed a sac and a smallish yolk sac and what he thinks was a fetal pole - but no HB. He said everything measured a week behind schedule - and he was most concerned that he didn't see a HB when I'm 6w4d by my count - but the sac measures the 5w2d mark....is this possible in IVF and is there hope??
very odd, I went in, the doc scanned me but the machine is rather old so he couldn't tell if I was miscarrying or not and then i went in for Intralipids...so I still have NO idea if I'm in the clear or not or what the outcome will be.
I am still so worried - but nothing can be done till next week when they scan me again.
you guys are amazing! Thank you, I started really worrying myself sick last night when I started spotting...scan is at 7am - fingers, toes crossed!!
Exactly same situation..this post could have been written by me. And yep...a very happy outcome.
6 was my lucky no. My beautiful 18 month old son was my 6th pregnancy. I also had HCG levels slow way down, and they were not yet even as high as yours. I also had cramping and was even bleeding! Here he is though, making every day incredible.
With your hcg levels...they always always slow down at this point. They only double every 48 hours until they reach about 1200. Then it slows down and eventually around 8 weeks level off and drop. So the increase you had in 48 hours? Completely and utterly normal. Honestly they are.
Good luck on your scan tomorrow and I am looking forward to reading the happy update!!
Oh, and here is a chart I often give out giving normal HCG doubling times. I think it might help put your mind at ease
"Normal" Doubling Time
hCG levels Doubling Time
Under 1200 mIU/ml 31-72 hours
Between 1200 to 6000 mIU/ml 72-96 hours
Over 6000 mIU/ml more than 96 hours
hCG levels rise during the first 6 to 10 weeks of pregnancy then decline slowly during the second and third trimesters.
So your numbers slowing is super normal. At this point I am really surprised they are even testing beta's as your ultrasound is a far better diagnostic tool at this stage.
Take care! And know your not alone..it's scary after multiple losses, but it doesn't mean your not going to have a normal healthy pregnancy. It's going to happen! (((hugs)))
Hi, I have 4 miscarriages and understand you deep fear. We had these miscarriages but now have 4 kids! We had to have scans to find out also. Never give up hope though. They are still rising and that is a great sign. Hope your scan turns out well tomorrow and if possible try to relax because stress isn't great for you or your bub. good luck.
