This is s question for your ob or midwife
No drug is 100% safe in pregnancy but a once daily small dose of opioid is likely ok and sounds like the way to get you some rest and therefore make you healthier for carrying baby. You should give birth in hospital if you're on long term meds like these late in pregnancy to ensure baby doesn't withdrawal when born (unlikely with small doses) which can make them unwell. Hope that helps
As everyone had different opinions on this, some say it is safer others say it isn't, when you are taking any type of opiates you have to know that what it's doing to your body it's doing to the babies body, so if you are sedating yourself your sedating the baby, movements will decrease and baby won't b as active. They're are side effects for the baby, as well as you. Just be cautious with the medication because they're is a small chance if neonatal withdraw, respiratory distress with chronic or high dose, and small teratogenic risk. Now mind you these are just what I have learned in medical school and are no reason to worry yourself there are plenty of women who take them while pregnant with no effects on baby, but you never want to over do it!
I have had Cronin back pain I have took them too and am if its helping dont stop the bad thing out way the good you have to be comfortable ao you can keep the baby in as long as you can. I take 3 lortad 10 3 times daily and ambien to sleep you are not getting high your killing the pain when you abuse is when problems come :) stay strong
22wks, had surgery last week, I've been taking a tramadol at night to help with the post surgery pain when lying down and normal paracetamol during the day. I feel bad taking it but my dr assures me paracetamol has been considered safe during pregnancy for 50yrs and tramadol for 20 or 30yrs. Not sure about viccodine but if it was prescribed I'm sure the dr would have weighed up the risks and benefits and explained any side effects.
