I am 39 soon to turn 40 in sept...I am due in August with a healthy baby boy. My doctor put me on prenatal plus for "women over 35" ...it has been a longer road it seems w this one...but just don't stress everything will be just fine.
I'm 38 be 39 next week I'm 10 weeks and I haven't been sick or anything I have one 13 yrs old son was sick 8 months so far I'm doing well but my job I'm on my feet 8 hrs a day very active but I'm 200 lb and 5 9 so maybe everyone is different
Good to see another mom to be like me here. I'm 41 and pregnant withy first. Since baby is due right around my birthday, I may be a 42year old first time mom. Kinda scary to think about.
If you can, find a midwife, it's the only way I got away from negative pessimistic obgyns who wanted to push for interventions the minutes the stick turned blue. Thanks to my midwife this pregnancy is going great, minimal discomfort and almost fun.
Hey there! Congrats!
I had my child at 44 and I believe the doc was shocked that I Didn't have any problems the whole time. If you are healthy, then things should be fine. You have to find an OB that is positive. Lots of older moms these days and as far as that goes, 40 is not so old as many folks I know are my age and older still ttc - including me!!! There are lots of positive medical professionals there, so please find one...Don't let anyone stress you out at this time, but with that said, you do have to be prepared for the speeches about genetic tests, complications, etc, because they are after all required to tell you this information and it would be malpractice if they didn't...so we also have to know that on our side, the information has to come, but we definitelyy want it to come in a non-judgmental way. Good Luck!
thank you all. beginning to feel like a cool 40!!!!! i am so encouraged. Now looking forward to a healthier happier baby.
anything i should eat to add to this boost?
Doctors are not superior to God, who just so happens to have the final say. :-)
Stay positive and keep yourself healthy!
I'm 41 (42 in Oct) & hubby is 45. We are expecting a healthy baby boy in Sept. I've done better with this baby than any of my others!
Hi- I'm 43 & expecting as well (6 4/7wks). Regarding testing etc during pregnancy, this is of course optional. My personal feelings are to have testing done, even if you chose not to do anything. I say this, because I see as an NICU nurse, parents are typically much better prepared emotionally if they are aware of any complications. This goes the same for the delivery being more of a controlled situation, should specialists need to be present. Again, I encourage others to at least consider the non-invasive testing. :)
I am 41 and 27 weeks and 6 days pregnant. Good luck to you.
