Research natural progesterone cream and pregnancy.  I have used progesterone cream for over a year to balance my hormones and in doing the research I found that it also aids in helping women conceive, as well as sustaining pregnancy.  Most doctors don't know much about it, because they're not trained on it...even OB/GYN's because it's natural and not pharmaceutical!  But there is a ton of information on the web about it and it's been highly researched.
I am almost 42 and just 5 weeks pregnant and using progesterone cream until after my first trimester to help sustain the pregnancy.  I also got pregnant in two months.  Who knows if it had something to do with the progesterone cream, as we hadn't TTC for 9 years, but it certainly is something to look into!
Good luck.

Hi,
I am new to the forum but have been reading many posts over the last week or so when I found this site.  I was comparing my symptoms, etc.   My story may be a rare one and I thought you may want to hear about it!  I married young the first time and had my first 2 children at 18 and 22.  I divorced about 14 years ago and married my new DH in March 2006.  I was 45, turning 46 in November.  My DH is younger, 32 when we married.  After we married, we began ttc...figured at my age, we'd have to go to an RE.  My GYN referred me to one and I started Clomid. On the 4th month, I got pregnant.  Carried it for 2 months and m/c. Next tried Gonal-f for 2 months and got pregnant. M/C at 4 weeks.  I am healthy but my RE said my eggs were too old. Only other route other than adoption was IVF with donor egg.  We took a break for a while due to a family tragedy then decided if we were going to try IVF, the time was now. Due to the economic conditions, there were really no waiting lists, actually more donors than recepients, so we started the process the end of March. I gave myself Lupron injections and took Estrace (Estradiol) until my cycle matched our donor we had chosen.  We had the ET on 4/30/09 and I began Prometrium suppositories. They transferred 2 embryos...on day 2, when they were only 4-5 cells, and I just found out today I am pregnant!!  My beta number was 319!!  Could be twins??  We are very excited and optomistic but we realize it's going to be a high risk pregnancy and any thing can happen. I am now 48 and will be 49 when the baby is born!  I just continue to say my prayers daily.  I just wanted other over 35'ers to know it can happen. Don't give up!  But after 40, the donor egg route will definitely give you the best odds!!  Baby dust to everyone!! :)

I am in a similar situation as you, except I am 40 and just experienced my 5th loss.  Jen is right, with first trimester miscarriages at our age, chances are it is chromosonal abnormalities...older eggs like ours have a higher rate of that.  However, you can also be tested for blood clotting disorders and low progesterone.  I now take a daily baby asprin, and prometrium (progesterone supplement) as soon as I am past ovulation.  See a specialist as Jen recommended, that is your best bet!  Good luck to you, and I am sorry for your losses.

tj67 - you need to see a re (reproductive endocrinologist).  You've had two m/c's & have tried for five months - both of those indicate the need to see a re.

There are women who get pregnant after 42 but I have to add that fertility drops like a waterfall at different ages and 42's one of them.  That doesn't necessarily mean you can't get pregnant - it just means it's going to be harder & take more effort.

With two early m/c's, I would guess that the embryos didn't develop any further because of chromosonal issues which is common in women of all ages.  Unfortunately the rate of m/c's increases in women 40+ so it's a matter of getting pregnant w/that "golden" egg.

Keep trying & see either your ob/gyn or re - good luck! - jen
