induction

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes.  My ob is saying I need to be induced at 39 weeks. Has anyone gone through this? It is my first pregnancy and not sure if my age (37) has something to do with it.

I am a type 1 diabetic.  My OB will not let a diabetic carry past 38 weeks for several reasons....trust me you want to deliver before 38 weeks

I am a GD mom myself, ×3. The number one reason for an early induction with GD moms is the fear that baby will get too large for a vaginal delivery. Talk with your doctor about your concerns.

Im not much help but I was diagnosed very late with GD so much so that I havent even been able to see a dietician. My doctor scheduled me an induction almost a week and half past my due date and its really only to be prepared if she doesnt come on her own. I am under weekly care of a specialist with sonos every week so maybe thats why. My doctor isnt worried unless my blood pressure is bad.
