Cat or Dog and ur pregnancy and baby?

Ok im 37 weeks +4 and I am wondering how ur animals are taking ur pregnancy or after the baby is born. I know that my pomchi is sticking around me and protecting the belly but I wonder how she'll be when the baby is born. We havent pushed her aside or ignored her. We have included her when we bring baby stuff in the house.

My dog started following me everywhere and ony lays on my side of the bed from when I was first preggo after I had my son she was good with him until he started being able to crawl everywhere she used to raise her lip when my son would play in her food or start to climb on her while she was sleepingshe was sternly corrected. If she dodoesn't like it she goes somewhere else and now my son can throw her food all over or in her water and she doesn't mind now u just cant ever leave a kid and a dog alone together cuz u just never know

Awww so many great stories. My dog lays on my belly too and feels the baby move. She'll lay next to me on my belly and I feel the baby kicking the dog. :) I cant wait to see her reaction when the baby is here. My dog is 3 and I have had her since she was 6 weeks old. Anyone who comes near my belly she growls at them even if its another dog.

My two fur babies were still pretty young when we had our first and my big mastiff mix spent all day under my feet or laying his head on my belly (until she started kicking him in the head lol) and my female spent all day looking out the windows barking her warnings... she's almost 3 and they still have to come in at bedtime and kiss her... when she cries they both lay at her feet and whine too... everyone freaked out that they would hurt her at first because they're sooo big but they have been great... and my big guy is always on my belly again this time :-)

My cats stuck on me like white on rice. He is so protective of me. He sleeps with me and tries to stay close to my belly, and sometimes even uses it as a headrest when im napping.  Too cute really!

Hope he stays this way when the baby comes next week.

My dog was amazing with my first.  He not only took care of me when pregnant, cuddling me when I laid down and standing by me when I threw up, but when my daughter was born all he did was guard her.  He followed he everywhere and would watch her sleep in her bed.  He became more aggressive toward workers/repairman that came to the house (and towards me when I held him back from them) but other than that he was perfect, and honestly I liked his protectiveness.  My daughter and him were inseparable until he passed from lymphoma when she was 18 months.  We never changed how we treated him and made sure he was always included.  He was the one that made my daughter laugh the first time :-)

My cat NEVER leaves my side :)
When my son was born and his mini crib was next to bed, same cat would sit near and watch over all night.  I swear he's an old reincarnated soul.

Its all how u raise them. I know I have heard if u bring new things in include ur pet in everything. My dog is spoiled but she seems to be ok. I leave the nursery door open so its not closed to her amd she doesnt go in there unless I do.

I've got 2 dogs and a couple of domestic rats(best pets ever) and my pit is great with other kids and excited my other dog I worry about he demands for my attention and is a little territorial I'm a dog trainer who likes working with difficult dogs (he is a maltipoo mix) I know everyone one is thinking the pit bull would be the harder one to deal with but she is a sweetie
