5 weeks and no embyro! help!
HI there.. I am 35 yrs old and have PCOS (so irregular periods) as well as high blood pressure.. I just found out this week thaat I am pregnant.. I have an 11 yr old so this might? be the 2nd one.. the problem is that I had some bleeding a few days before I did the urine test and have had some spotting every day since! Went for the vaginal u/s on Oct 19th and the reports says that there is a gestational sac of around 5.5 weeks, a yolk as well but no embyo?! Aslo, there is a cyst of about 2 cms on the irght ovary! Have been feelin gmighty tired lately and the boobs are a bit sore too...Can anyone please explain if there is any possbility of this turning into a viable pregnancy? I have also gone for 2 Hcg blood tests on Monday and Wednesday this week but they results have not come back yet... can anyone pls. comment and let me know if they have been through/seen someting similar??!! worried and yet somehow still hopefull!

Hi,
Relax! Small hemorrage are not uncommon and not considered dangerous.
The cervix is also very sensitive during pregnancy and spotting is also not uncommon.
Don't go lifting anything heavy, but other than that do your best not to stress.
Am so glad you didn't let your doctor talk you into a D&C.

update: went for the u/s yesterday.. and heard a heartbeart!!! the gestational age of the baby is 7 weeks 6 days! and I saw its tiny crown and rump!! :) howver, have also started spotting again since yesterday.. the u/s shows a small implatation hemmorage along with the baby.. can anyone say if this is dangerous? also, what is to be done to monitor this and avid rupture? .. has anyone had someting similar?? can this result in me loosin gthis baby??... do not mean to sound paranoid, but this is pregnanacy has happended after 11 long years of waiting sine my fist born.. so i'm a bit off my rockers.. no doubt the hormaones have a role to play as well!! :0.. can any one share their experience on this???

thank you soo much for your encouragement mo16541.. and yes u r right, the waiting is killing me!1 just got the 3rd hcg result (tested on Oct 23rd, so 72 hrs after the 2nd one) and the result was 50,878...
i am hoping we can hear a heartbeat in the u/s next week.. but know there r others with similar stories is really helpful.. my doc seems to have given up on me already.. she was talkin gof drugs to help the misscarriage or a D&C! I want to wait till at least a few more weeks to see where this is going.. w ehave been trying for the last 6 yrs, and also did a few treatments cyles a few yrs ago, but nothing happend... and nowe this came out of the blue, we we r both very excited and nervous.. well at least this shows that is CAN still happen naturally... pls. pray for me! :0

thanks for the reply.. hopefully, they will see a healthy embyro in yuor next US.. my next one is also scheduled for Nov 1st.. meanwihle, the HCG numbers are not too encouraging with.. they were 28200 on Oct 18th and 30484 on Cot 20th.. mu doc thinks the increase is not high enough and that I will miss carry.. but there is no bleeding or cramping any more.. the earlier spotting is also gon enow.. the body aches, sore breats and back ache continues though.. can any one comment on this?? i am still hoping this might work out..
i have a cyst too on my right ovary, i am 6 weeks and today in my scan they only seen the sac. im back on the 1st Nov for a follow up scan. i was told it is too small to see inside the sac xo

Don't get discouraged, there is hope. The waiting is what makes it worse for all of us. I had to make myself take one day at a time. I had a missed miscarriage in March with no indication that anything was wrong. So the waiting was absolutely killing me and my husband.
