I'm a CHRONIC spotter!!  I'm currently 11w2d and have spotted almost the entire time!  I went for an u/s at 7w and everthing was fine.  Tell her to try not to worry b/c it doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong.  She definitely needs to see a dr just to make sure though.  Best of luck to her!

Hi Melanie,

Any spotting should be checked out for sure by a Dr. However, app. 25 - 30% of women spot in their first trimester, and have normal healthy pregnancies.  It can be caused by all sorts of things, and if it is that light, probably nothing to worry about.  But still, make sure she gets it checked out.  Its super important.

Good luck.
