AT SEVEN WEEKS OF PREGNANCY AND NO FETUS

I am very depressed, nervous and concern, I went to the emergency room a week ago due to light vaginal bleeding, and cramping.  The Dr. said that I had a bladder infection, and advise me to follow up with my OB Gyn Dr.

I have been going to the OB Gyn for two weeks already, I've had three pelvic ultrasound done already, the first one showed a Sac no fetus at 6 weeks, HCG level went up from 5100 to 6900.  Now I am seven weeks pregnant, I had another Pelvic Ultrasound on 10/02/08, this time the saw a sac and yolk sac, HCG level 12000.

My Dr. Told me that still things don't look good, that they should of been able to see a fetus by now.  I don't know what to think and feel anymore.

I am not bleeding, nor cramping, I feel pregnant.  I don't understand, I am very lost.

Do I still have a chance to have a healthy pregnancy?

Please hep!!

First off, I am so very sorry you are going through what is such a stressful time.  In a perfect world, your HCG levels would double every 2 or 3 days.  However, that doesn't happen all the time, and yours are increasing, which is a good sign.  Also, you had growth between ultrasounds, and thats good as well.

All you can do right now is wait and see.  It is possible to experience a loss with no physical symptoms, however usually your HCG will start to drop.  Ask for a blood draw 2 days apart to ensure the numbers are still rising, that will tell you a lot.  Also, when are they doing another ultrasound?

All the best to you.  Take good care.
