Affects of Alcohol on Ovulation

Hey all, this is one of those super paranoid questions, but after all thats happened, I tend to worry about every little thing these days.  I am due to ovulate in the next few days (I hope!!)  We just moved back to Calgary, and tonight are going to a get together at a local pub with a group of friends we haven't seen in awhile.  If I have a couple of drinks, can that affect the egg when I ovulate?  I normally abstain completely between ovulation and AF/BFP, but it would be nice to relax and have a drink with this group of friends.  I don't drink heavily ever, so it won't be more then 2 or 3, but I worry about all this stuff now.  I just am not willing to take any chances.  Thoughts?  Feel free to tell me if I am being overly paranoid...lol.  Thanks as always for any responses.  Amanda

Have a couple of drinks ( wine works well).
Pretend you have just started dating your husband and take it from there and have a blast.
You'll be pregnant before you know it!

Thanks ladies, I appreciate it.  I wouldn't have even worried, except I am so afraid to do anything to potentially damage that egg.  I always abstain right after ovulation even though logically I know it doesn't do anything.  I just always figure, why chance it.  It feels good to go out tonight and these are friends DH and I missed dearly.  And its walking distance, so we can have a few drinks as no one needs to drive!!  Have a great evening everyone.

Oh, and Pam you are hilarious.....I need to look up that phsycic hotline phone number...lol.  Oh, by the way, do you think I am ovulating????  lol.

Oh Amanda, we must have been seperated at birth!!! I worry about the same thing. Just like Pamela said, go live it up girl!!!

I will be doing the same!!! This is my m/c treat!! This will be the first drink I have had in a year, so I will probably get drunk on one!!!!

Put your worries aside and just don't drink when it gets close to BFP time!!!

Enjoy!!!

You're not being overly paranoid, you're being responsible and concerned.  I would say there is no harm done...especially because you don't indulge or have drinking binges, and you're not pregnant (Yet  : ) ...go eat, drink, be merry!!!  Have a couple for me too!!  Have fun tonight!!  If I see any posts that ask "Do you think I'm pregnant?"  I'll say, "let me check with my psychic friend, and I'll get back to ya"  : ) !!!!  Pam
