Anyone ever have a boil.....down there?

So embarrasing to ask this, but with my growing belly I think I was wearing undies that were too tight around the legs and, after shaving the sides "down there" went exercising with those too-tight undies. The next day )2 weeks ago) I had a sore spot and now it's like the size of a grape. It hurts like an SOB and I think it's a boil from an ingrown hair due to shaving and those darn too-tight undies with friction from exercising. I've never had one and am not sure what to do about it....

I was also worried it was a blood clot since I had one in my last pregnancy (on anticoagulants now), but there aren't any major veins right there at the edge of the bikini line groin area I don't think. The iliac vein, I believe, is further over on the thigh side of the groin, not the pubic hair (sorry for the TMI)  bony side of the groin.

So sorry for the TMI ladies, but does anyone know? I have a doc appt on Tuesday but am wondering if I am okay waiting that long?

So embarrassed,
Christina

NO IMPROVEMENT at all. No head, no nothing, just more pain. Very happy I'm going to the doc tomorrow. It's not even red around it so maybe it's not a boil and is a cyst or something. I'm getting worried. :0(

Ouch!  Hope your situation is improving!

It's still early in this pregnancy, but once my belly got to big last pregnancy to see what I was doing with a razor down there, I had my bikini line waxed once a month.  I didn't want to look like a monkey in the delivery room!

It sure does take care of things fast and lasts a long time -- but, waxing is more painful when you're pregnant!  I guess because of the increased blood flow and sensitive skin.

Lastminutemama...I think we do have Veet here, either that or my Danish best friend uses it so I'll have to have her send me some. We have some brands here in the states that just stink. Haven't had luck w/ any of them (sensitive skin...)

shesherm, kellym: Thanks for the tips! I like the bandaid idea as it's not like with '"that area" I can easily go soak it inconspiculously 2-3x a day...people might think I'm up to some weirdo stuff in the loo :0)- But definitely showing the doc on tues. I do know that boils are definitely infections and being preggo you definitely don't want infections going "glandular".

This shaving while pregnant thing is a serious health hazard....definitely time to give the lotions a try, that is for sure

Instead of shaving with a blade, try the special creme to "unhair". I always use it and it works perfect. I cannot mention any brands, I'm Dutch and don't know what's available in the States, but here we got a mark called "Veet" and that's great!

It will probably turn white,  maybe even a warm bath would help.. Maybe do it 2-3x a day, it will go away :) OR here's an idea, put a wet bandaid on it, that will keep it moist and maybe come to a head quicker.

Thanks ladies!! I do thiink the blade wasn't sharp enough, come to think about it...I kept saying to myself, "dang I've got to change this...and didn't until last week" I will try the hot compress and the rubbing alcohol There's no head yet, which is what made me worried it wasn't a boil. How long did it take for the head to appear? Thanks again!

I've gotten the "boil" down there as well as under my arms a few times after shaving with a blade that was not sharp enough, I assume.

I'm with Kellym, and I've even gone as far as to apply rubbing achol. a few times each day to help it dry out and/or bring the "poison" to a head.

Good luck!

I would suggest a wet hot washcloth to try to get the poison to a head. Once the poison is out you will feel much better (probably will be puss w/blood)
